I like the effect of raised sheet metal, relief work with the hammer and chisel marks left as is.  An antiqued finish with the highlights buffed out provides a bold contrast.  This and other pieces like it are hand made, irregular, imperfect and therefore beautiful.  At least, in my opinion.
