Ontario building code restricts railing styles to what is deemed safe designs. "Safe Designs" provide no toe holds to prevent the railing from being climbed like a ladder.  I support solid construction techniques and safe design although I feel the current building code is slightly over zealous.  So, it can be challenging to come up with fresh interesting railing designs that fall within accepted code restrictions.  It has forced me to explore subtle detailing in railings.  This fork style of railing features subtle pleasing lines while conveying a silent sense of mass and solidity.
