This door was inspired by the art nouveau era, popular at the beginning of the last century. Art nouveau was characterized by flowing organic lines, the whiplash motif and a romantic reinterpretation of classical and medieval designs. Its subject matter often touched on mythological and mystical themes. My astrology themed hinges feature a sun, a moon and many stylized stars. It is nailed and stapled to the oak door with custom forged hardware.
