Antler Fire Screen

A traditional Muskoka feel was the criteria for this project. Working with the client, we decided to incorporate wild life elements indigenous to this cottage’s area. I forged antlers, a timber wolf head, and paw accents as well as stylized pinecones to produce a fixed fire screen with a hinged door. This allows easy access to feed the fire without the inconvience of moving a large, heavy, hot screen especially where hearth space is limited. This client was enthusiastically involved in creating this functional iron art resulting in something with personal significance.
